First big fish
Written by B J Berwanger
It was a Saturday night at our local park and I and my Labrador were bank fishing. I through a top water lure that the Lab wanted to run down. Then out of know where came the strike and a bent rod. The Lab was on it before I could set the hook. She had the tail in her mouth and I had the mouth hooked up. We were both wild as we carried the fish home to weigh. We saw a friend and stopped and weight the fish at 5Lbs and 8ozs. There were pics taken and the fish was prepared for mounting. It was 22" long so figure the cost. Sunday morn there was a question directed at me from the youth director from children's time that was,"Where did you catch that fish?" the response was "in the mouth the dog had the tail". Needless to say it was a time before order could be restored and the service continued.
