Weather effects - 2006/06/24 02:24 With all this rain we've had, does that affect the saltwater fishing like it does the freshwater? I think bass are freaks with weather changes.

Re:Weather effects - 2006/06/25 01:17 It really depends on the species of fish your after. Striped Bass for instance, who hang around river mouths where a lot of fresh water would mix with the salt, really wouldn't have any issue with it since they are an anadromous species (fish that can live in both fresh and salt waters).

Tuna on the other hand being a palagic species (swimming in the open ocean, covering lot's of territory, need to keep moving) might have an issue with it since they prefer "saltier" waters. These species typically will sound to deeper depths when heavy rainfalls dilute the top water column (which is kind of rare).
