Re:todays show - 2007/01/23 21:33
Hi Guys, thanks for watching, sorry for the delay. Yes, we were using 2 oz sinkers only because we were in somewhate shallow water. The ledge came up to 6 feet and the fish were stacked against it. If we dropped it down to the bottom on the deep side (20 feet or so) by the time we hit the strike zone were the fish were stacked up, we'd have to much scope out and wouldn't feel the hit as much. So we dropped about 10 feet of line out which dangled in the deep water but bumped bottom once we hit the ledge. The Mackerel up there is amazing, we loaded up in minutes, it was sick! AND, when a striper saw a fresh livie up in the river they were like WHAM, and just hammered it! Although the fish were small (big by their standards in Maine) it was a blast the scenery was amazing....It's so nice up there. If you ever get a chance to fish it, you should, it's worth the trip for a calm, fun day of fishing. Give Barry Gibson (my guest that day) a shout, he's a good guy and knows his stuff...
