Re:Striper Float fishing - 2006/01/03 17:41 Yes, those floats are usually used with Shark fishing and I was pleasently suprised to see him using them for striper fishing. The floats come in different sizes, small medium large, and when I've bought them for shark fishing I've always wondered why they make the small ones, but never bought them. See's like a great way to fish live baits, just like they were doing, SO, I'll be getting some small ones this year. The floats are snap floats, which bend in the middle and are held bent by an elastic band, when they strike comes and you reel, the float snaps over and slides down the line for less drag. I got mine a few years ago at Fishermans Outfitter in Gloucester. That was a good show.

Re:Striper Float fishing - 2006/01/05 01:10 Thanks Bill,
A shark float...never came to mind to look there.
I checked out Fisherman's Outfitters and they have only one size of shark float (6"). Would you consider that to be the small or big float size?? Thanks

Re:Striper Float fishing - 2006/01/13 23:43 I think the 6 inch is the medium sized one. I've seen them maller (4 inch which I think Dave used on the show) and I've used bigger (like 8 inch) for sharks. Let the guys from Fishermans Outfitter know you got to them through this site and he might hook you up. There a bug supporter of the his show. I did and they took care of me.
